What Actually Moves the Price
- Substrate condition. A clean, sound slab costs less to prep than one with existing coating to remove, cracks to fill, or high moisture readings that need a vapor-blocking primer.
- Square footage. Larger jobs cost less per square foot because mobilization, equipment setup, and crew travel are fixed costs spread across more area.
- System complexity. A single-coat industrial epoxy is materially cheaper than a multi-layer, chemical-resistant, slip-rated, cove-based system — the material and labor difference is real, not padding.
- Downtime constraints. Facilities that can't close, or need overnight/weekend work, sometimes pay a modest premium for crew scheduling flexibility.
